Conference Retrospective

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:38 pm by quandmeme

What a powerful conference; what an assembly of minds! So what is the harm? Among several resounding themes, the way I would explain the conference to my peers is that it is not a question of quantifying the harm of who my friend marries that preoccupies us, but the knowledge of what the legitimization of that relationship as a marriage costs societies.

The costs are simply unpayable, from harms that are hard to reduce to statistics or sound-bites like the exchange of intstitutional procreative responsibility for a culture of self-gratification to the demonstrable, staggering statistics of the public health costs of promoting homosexual lifestyles despite the medical and sociological evidence.

Please share your own reactions.
